Back by popular demand, Riverside Concerts
and the Rochester Art Center present the return of the
Cabaret Riverside Concert Series!

ROCHESTER, MN - Riverside Concerts and the Rochester
Art Center proudly present the Fall 2005 edition of
the 2nd annual Cabaret Riverside Concert Series, sponsored
by Minnesota Public Radio, with accommodations provided
by the Kahler Grand Hotel, the official hotel of Cabaret
Riverside.

Start your weekend early with a combination of great
"LIVE" music and casual gourmet light meals,
appetizers and drinks, all in the smoke-free environment
of the Rochester Art Center's spectacular Grand Lobby
providing a clear view of the beautiful Rochester skyline
right from the comfort of your own table. Free admission
to the Rochester Art Center’s galleries completes
the experience.

Concerts will be held the third Thursday of each month.
Event dates for the Fall 2005 edition are as follows:
September 15, October 20, November 17 and December 15.
Cabaret Riverside opens at 5:30 p.m. for dining and
socializing and touring the galleries. The music begins
at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12.50 and $10.50 (for Rochester Art Center
members or Riverside Concerts Partner members). Tickets
go on sale for all four events on Monday, August 15,
2005 at 9AM and are available at Riverside Concerts
in City Hall, the Rochester Art Center and at the door

The
fall series finale will feature a special holiday concert
from roots duo SWITCHBACK (www.waygoodmusic.com/switchback)
on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 6:30 PM in the Rochester
Art Center Grand Lobby. Original Americana, traditional
Celtic, plus a few nods to genres off the beaten path
delivered by two excellent musicians who create a full-band
sound. Superb songwriting and harmonies reflect an uncommon
grasp on the roots of American music, taking the traditional
into the present. Showcasing a repertoire ranging from
sentimental ballads to blistering rockers, the duo deliver
a powerful sound rivaling that of larger ensembles.
While their musical paths have taken them to a variety
of genres, Switchback have never abandoned their traditional
Celtic roots. At once eliciting praise and frustration
by critics who find it difficult to pigeonhole their
eclectic sound, Switchback continues to be driven by
their mission to create and bring music to far-flung
places and unlikely audiences. And with the rhythmic
cadence of their dancing shoes, the audiences return
the favor, paving the winding road for the band's well-worn
wheels.
