ROCHESTER, MN - Riverside Concerts presents Chuck Blattner directing the Rochester Concert Band at this year?s Rochesterfest celebration. The Concert Band will also perform a concert in tribute to the anniversary of our country?s independence on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 8:30 p.m. at the Silver Lake Park soccer field. The concert is FREE to the public and will precede the fireworks display. Brought to you by Riverside Concerts and the Rochester Parks and Recreation Department. Selections to include "Semper Fidelis", "1812 Overture" and "Stars & Stripes Forever".

This annual event celebrates the rich and diverse talent of our community, commemorates the anniversary of our country?s independence with patriotic favorites, both old and new, and is the overture to one of the finest fireworks displays in the area.

The program will feature an assortment of patriotic classics. Every year, one of the most memorable highlights of the concert is the goosebump-raising performance of the finale to Tchaikovsky?s ?1812 Overture? with the first few ?BOOMS? of the fireworks display acting as the cannon fire.

From Broadway hits to patriotic classics, with a dash of classical thrown in for good measure, Chuck and company offer up a little something for everyone; with a few surprises. Nothing says ?summer? like a band concert in the park.
