Newcomer Jason Michael Carroll exploded onto the Country scene with his first single, the self-penned, Top-5 ?Alyssa Lies? and its follow-up single "Livin' Our Love Song". The 28-year-old North Carolina native arrived at #1 on Billboard?s Top Country Albums chart with his debut disc, Waitin? in the Country. With first-week sales of 57,608, and a Billboard 200 pop chart entry at #8, Carroll achieves both the best unit sales and the highest pop chart debut by any new country male since Billy Ray Cyrus hit in 1992.
