Davies Printing and KXLT Fox 47 present Grammy winning folk guitar legend Doc Watson on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 7:30 PM in the Mayo Civic Center - Presentation Hall.
Recipient of the National Medal of Arts, National Heritage Fellowship and seven Grammy Awards (including recent Lifetime Achievement), Doc Watson is a legendary performer who blends his traditional Appalachian musical roots with bluegrass, country, gospel and blues to create a unique style and an expansive repertoire. He is a powerful singer and a tremendously influential picker, who virtually invented the art of playing mountain fiddle tunes on the flattop guitar. Doc will be joined on stage by Grammy winning folk guitarist, banjoist and storyteller David Holt and grandson Richard Watson.
