Rochesterfest finale to feature a concert from Chuck Blattner and the Rochester Concert Band



ROCHESTER, MN - Riverside Concerts presents Chuck Blattner directing the Rochester Concert Band performing a concert entitled When Summer Takes Flight: A Concert for Rochesterfest. This concert will act as the finale of the 2006 Rochesterfest celebration and will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 7 PM in Mayo Park (behind the Mayo Civic Center). Admission is FREE!

In its 137th year of existence, the Concert Band has become a Rochester institution. Originally named the Rochester Park Band, the band's concerts in the park still conjure up memories of a time gone by; strolling down to the old bandshell in Mayo Park on a hot summer evening to enjoy the tunes of the day as performed by friends and neighbors. From Broadway hits to patriotic classics, with a dash of classical thrown in for good measure, Chuck and company offer up a little something for everyone; with a few surprises. Nothing says "summer" like a band concert in the park.
